The streets of spring 2022 are bustling with trend inspirations from left, right and centre. They are versatile, sexy and unbelievably exciting!
The most amazing part is these trends give you an uninterrupted space to express yourself while being a part of the tribe.
Monopoly of the Playful plaids
Its the era of thick thin lines intersecting! We witness the most amazing and tantalising plays with plaids in a variety of colours, intricacies and angles. Plaid has literally taken over the streets, they are on coats, skirts, dresses, bags, totes, tops, shirts, you name it!

Was there on order of putting on clothes?
Because our street rebels will leave no rule unbroken.
We see the most brazen display of underwear on top of clothes or peeking through sheer clothing. You can make your lingerie as sensuous or as innocent. We see bras, bralettes, bustiers and bandeaus.
And honestly the amount we spend on our lingerie, this trend couldn’t have come any sooner!

We see trenches and coats reimagined. I know what you re thinking, “leather trench in spring? I’d never!” but once you look at these looks- oh mama, they are irresistible!
Seriously trench on trench is a thing – and I love it. It’s probably my personal favourite trend!
We see the use of eclectic cuts, and unique shoulder forms and of course the cult favourite- dad jackets!
Dad jackets on dresses is like wine and cheese honey.
This trend is sophisticated, elegant and perfect for days at the office!
High on dye
Its spring and the streets look like it rained sprinkles!
But the colour trends this spring are just phenomenal! Like this could be a whole another blog!
It’s the end of pastels babe – we are back with the most stunning brights! And I’m not talking just neon. They are most perfect balance of bold and subtle – oxymoronic I know! But these colours stand out without blinding your eyes. You can just stand and stare at them forever.
Also these colours have a rather unique evergreen quality – I know I would sport them night and day without a doubt!
Stag still twinning
You are independent, and whether or not your actions and your thoughts are coordinated, your fit sure can be!
Co-ords are that hot nerd of the season. They were underestimated and yucked upon as too uniform like- but the streets have spoken with an unquestionable show of the most creative and hot co-ords. We also see a wonderful variety of clothing items paired for co-ords.
Limits do expand the creativity!
Who’s that print?
Novelty prints are the ace of the spring streets 2022.
We see the most quirky, unique and out of the box designs. I mean the standards of the prints has reached an extraordinary level. Just when you think you’ve seen the most unique print possible, boom you see the next unbelievable thing.
Super eye catchy- its like the streets are an artist’s gallery.
Its denim…duh
Denim is truly the most versatile fabric an it is the new old thing.
You can shamelessly (as you always should) recycle your wardrobe. Denim has been so beautifully incorporated with new silhouettes and cuts. It’s a real treat.
When in doubt- go denim!
Lunch date, sil vous plait.
This trend is the soft girl dream come true!
Cute, casual, luncheon style dresses have literally stolen the show. They are breezy, so simple to throw on but look like you put so much effort in your outfit.
Honestly this trend is absolutely beautiful. And looking at such styles on the street feels so refreshing and boujie – I love!
Knight in knitted armour
Huge/exaggerated knitwear are such a cozy trend on the street.
They are super fun and trendy. You can be so experimental with knits – long clinging gowns, or short dresses, or even thick knit cardigans, or knitted totes are so en vogue.
I didn’t used to be so fascinated with knitwear but this trend has truly captured my heart. A part of me thinks that the trend might also be the extension of young gen z’s obsession with crochet but whatever it is – knitwear is back from grandma land and I think it is here to stay!
Take it Issey, pleats!
An homage to Issey Miyake, we have a new obsession with pleated lowers.
Pleated skirts, trousers and culottes are all over town with some seriously experimental silhouettes and cuts. This trend might be the “pineapple on pizza” piece of discussion but whatever you think of it, I think this trend will create some really classic pieces.
I’m genuinely looking forward to how people would embrace this familiar yet peculiar trend!
Can’t shirk them shirts
For all of you who are obsessed with shirts and can’t get enough of them ( I am one of those people) this seasonal trend is seriously gonna tickle your pickle.
Solid colour button downs, oxfords, asymmetrical and many different styles of shirts are bringing an exceptional twist to street fashion. Although shirts are considered a rather mundane piece of clothing item, I think the fact everyone owns at least one shirt in their closet truly makes this trend exceptional.
It gives everyone room to hop on the bandwagon and ride in their own style.
Back to Y2K
Y2K spring is my favourite kind of spring. I think the above trends and their experimental nature already calls spring 2022 Y2K in 50 different ways but we have some direct references.
With furry scarves, bandanas, boots, leather, baguette bags and fitted jumpsuits, I think we are all packed to travel back in time to ‘02.
And can I just mention the cute as hell sunnies people are sporting. Absolutely stunning!
All in all streets of spring 2022 have a place for everybody.
